-what happened in B.C.
The aboriginal accidently found out about Canada the place and countrey I live in. So once they found it they dicided to live there and call it there own. For over 10,000 years Aboriginal people have lived in B.C. These days there are about 200,000 Aboriginal people liveing in B.C that's crazyyyyy to me!
-Tell me about aboriginal culture.
Some of the aboriginal people would use moose or deer antlers to rake leaves while hunting. Aboriginal people would have a name such as Indians but now that would be incorrect to say. There cultures have bin going on for thousands of years it's cool how it is still going on there cultures. Contemporary geopolitical borders in North Amarica do not reflect (and often overlap) traditional Aboriginal lands.
-What were residential schools?
Residential schools are very scary. You get abused by the nuns and or the sisters. The boys and girls get seporated to not learn together the kids also have to sleep and live there just like us at school but we don't live there. They don't get meals that come from love and kindness like your parents at home give you they get food that they probably don't like. They clean and do chores on the weekends.
-what happened to families?
For the families that had to put there kids in Residential schools I think the parents that did not go to the schools would be not sad but maybe they might cause they don't get to see there kids for a while. I also think that the parents that went to the school will be scared cause maybe the kids will be so fed up that they would want to comitsuisied because the school is terrible.
-whose land are we on?
I think we might be on the Coast Salish region of Canada
1) What did you learn about in Aboriginal Education this year?
I learned about lots of stuff. I learned about Residential schools how they are bad and no matter what you had to go it's the law! For Aboriginals they can believe in what ever they want like the Spirit bear, most of them did. Aboriginals people still live to these days we also live on the Coast Salish and the the people that live on it are Aboriginals too.
